Keshet Technical Theater Training - KT2 (ages 12-18)

Keshet Technical Theater Training

Launching in the Fall 2018, Keshet’s Technical Theater (KT2) is a pre-professional training program for students ages 12 – 18 who are interested in a broad exposure to technical theater and the performing arts. The Keshet’s Technical Theater track is a year-long student commitment that will include participation in weekly after-school classes taught by industry experts and shadowing opportunities with adult mentors in the technical theater industry.

The program will feature a range of technical subjects, from Stage Management to Sound Design/Editing, Costuming to Lighting and Set Design. KT2 students will also gain hands-on experience with Technical Theater through the completion of practicum hours each semester.

As the resident technical theater training track at Keshet Dance and Center for the Arts, KT2 students will have access to Keshet community dance classes included in their tuition.

Sensory Friendly Performance

Keshet strives to make dance performance at Keshet Center for the Arts accessible to all. With this goal, performances have altered technical elements, smaller audience sizes, and break-out spaces for individuals to get up and move around throughout the performance, providing a welcoming setting for families.

Sensory adjustments include:

  • House lights remain at half brightness during the entire performance.
  • Fewer tickets are sold to allow you to spread out in seating.
  • Entry and Exit to the theater is not restricted. You may come and go as you please.
  • Volunteers are stationed throughout the audience, lobby and outside the Keshet Center for the Arts to assist audience members.
  • Quiet areas are designated in the lobby.
  • Keshet dancers, staff, ushers and volunteers are receiving training to ensure an exemplary experience for you and your family.
