SUMMARY:Movement for Mercy 2025
DESCRIPTION:A contemporary dance performance examining & re-imagining US juvenile justice systems co-created by collaborating artists inside and outside of prison walls. Currently incarcerated dancers and choreographers utilize the Keshet artists on the outside as “movement ambassadors\,” bringing their voice and vision to audiences on the outside\, locally and nationally. This iteration features work by student collaborators at the John Paul Taylor Center in Las Cruces\, one of two remaining post-adjudication facilities in New Mexico\, and is created in partnership with the Arts for Healing and Justice Network and Project Knucklehead. \nRuntime is approx\, 40 minutes. After the performance\, there will be a talkback and opportunities for questions and discussion. \nTickets $0-$40 sliding scale\nFRIDAY tickets here\nSATURDAY tickets here \nMovement for Mercy 2025 is made possible by the New England Foundation for the Arts’ National Dance Project\, with lead funding from the Doris Duke Foundation and the Mellon Foundation\, support from the State of New Mexico Economic Development Departments Creative Industries Division\, and in partnership with the Arts for Healing and Justice Network and Project Knucklehead.
