Keshet Makers Space Experience

The Keshet Makers Space Experience (MSE) is a cohort-based residency program in which choreographers / dancemakers have access to rehearsal space, peer movement classes, arts business workshops, and the New Mexico skies, as they explore their art form and their projects at whatever stage they might be – newly germinating ideas, final development of full productions, and/or anything in between.

Each MSE Cohort provides a unique opportunity for artists from across the country and world to gather at Keshet for a 10-day residency as they explore, move, share, and create. It is also a unique opportunity for the Albuquerque community to enjoy getting to know these amazing artists.

Applications for the 2025 Makers Space Experience will open in later summer/early fall 2024.

Caroline Butcher

Caroline Butcher

Boulder, CO

Caroline is a mover, thinker, maker, and collaborator with an intention to unearth the vulnerability of her whole self in the hopes of cultivating honest, messy, and radical relationships. She is committed to the seemingly impossible task of disrupting the perpetual effects of existing in colonized spaces in herself and in the systems in which she is implicated. Caroline is interested in embodied endurance practices that invoke discomfort, exhaustion, and strain as preparation for pursuing life’s complexities with joy and conviction. She uses the mediums of dance and movement to question hegemonic narratives and create an intentional awareness of the self in community. As a maker she is curious about how “performative” spaces can curate participation, reflection, and conversation. Ultimately, Caroline is passionate about fostering environments where individuals feel rooted in their humanness and connected to one another, recognizing their gifts, and leaning bravely into their growth edges.
