July 29-30 @ 8pm/ Sally Anne Friedland Dance Company: PNINA

PNINA premiered at Tel Aviv’s renowned Suzanne Dellal Center in July 2015 and comes to Keshet for its USA premiere!

Choreography:  Sally Anne Friedland

Creative dancers:  Dana Sapir, Mai Kessem Armon, Roni Chadash

Rehearsal director and choreographer’s assistant:   Dana Shoval

Lighting:  Tamar Orr

Music – collage by Sally Anne (with Roni Chadash):  Dictaphone, Ólafur Arnalds, Robert Lippok, Brian Eno, Dubliners, Raime, Nicolas Jaar, Alva Noto

Stage Manager:  Michal Ben Bassat

Duration:  45 minutes

PNINA is dance stripped bare. Three young women, without a narrative, reinvent themselves on stage: vibrating with intensity, dissipated with humor and then reconstituted with raw aggression.

PNINA is conceived for a black-box theater, an empty space without any props, enclosed within three black walls and black floor. The lighting creates architectural spaces and voids in which the dancers are moving in and out of the different scenes. On this empty stage, unencumbered by any sets and props, the lighting and music alone are focusing the viewers’ attention on the dancers’ bodies and movement.
