Youth classes at Keshet are open for dancers ages 2-17 years old (17+ will enjoy adult classes!)
Find the style/s of dance that interests you and jump in! Dropping in is welcome, and all classes are on a sliding scale starting at $0-full price.
Keshet offers a wide variety of dance classes for different ages, levels, abilities, and schedules!
Youth community dance classes are available on an ongoing basis, within three sessions annually, Fall, Winter/Spring, and Summer, and always open to drop-in classes with sliding scale payment options, so you can try what works best for your family.
Don’t forget to fill out your IAR (Information, Agreement and Releases)!

Creative Movement
- Creative Movement (ages 2-3 or 4-6) brings young dancers together (with one parent/guardian for ages 2-3) for exploring movement! This class will use movement games and prompts to focus on spacial awareness, musicality, and joy in dance.
Ballet and Contemporary
- Ballet and Contemporary (ages 6-8) is for young dancers wanting to explore the basics of ballet and contemporary dance. This class will focus on spatial awareness, musicality, and joy in movement.
Ballet
- Ballet Basics (ages 4-5) explores the foundation of ballet technique. This class will include developmentally appropriate stretching, ballet positions, and movement exploration with a focus on the joy in moving with others.
- Ballet (ages 9-12) class aims to equally challenge and excite dancers with the opportunity to refine and build upon basic ballet curriculum at the barre, in the center, and across the floor. This class will focus on strengthening the body, exploring artistry within ballet technique, and will strive to encourage dancers to set personal goals and aim for individual growth, all while having fun!
- Teen Ballet (ages 13-17) aims to equally challenge and excite dancers with the opportunity to refine and build upon basic ballet curriculum at the barre, in the center, and across the floor. Contemporary
- Contemporary (ages 9-12) is an exploratory class that will introduce and build on a variety of modern/contemporary movement practices to encourage students’ understanding of their bodies and the relationship to how and why they move.
- Teen Contemporary (ages 13-17) focuses on a working knowledge of the basic vocabulary and basic concepts of contemporary dance technique.
Jazz
- Jazz (ages 9-12) teaches the basics of Jazz dance technique. Students will learn basic steps, age-appropriate stretching, musicality and rhythms, and how to explore characters and expressions through movement. This is a great class for any student interested in Musical Theater, exciting dancing, or learning how to express themselves through movement.
- Teen Jazz (ages 13-17) aims to challenge and excite dancers equally with the opportunity to refine and build upon basic Jazz technique through center exercises, across the floor, and fun combinations. This class will focus on strengthening the body, exploring characters and expression, and developing more techniques!
Hip Hop
- Hip Hop (ages 9-12) teaches the basics of Hip Hop dance. Students will learn basic steps, explore improvising, and how to find their personal groove. This is a great class for any student interested in exploring rhythm, movement, and dancing with joy!

Production Participation:
For community dancers who are interested in participating in concerts, it’s as easy as filling out some paperwork and joining us for additional rehearsals, tech, and performances!
