Choreographers’ Showcase

Keshet hosts 1-2 Choreographers’ Showcases per year, supporting local, national, and international artists and providing a space to showcase new works at any stage in development, be it works-in-progress all the way to finished works. While Albuquerque dancers and choreographers make up the bulk of the show, the Showcases often include visiting artists from around the nation and globe who are in residency at Keshet through the Makers Space Experience.

Submissions to the Showcase are non-juried, and Keshet accepts submissions until the performance is at capacity.

Participation & Schedule Information

Choreographers’ Showcase submission opportunities are available approximately 2 months prior to each showcase.

Submission does not guarantee placement in the showcase. The first 60 minutes worth of material submitted is placed in the showcase (there is an 8 minute time limit per choreographer). You will be contacted to confirm participation. If you have not submitted to Keshet before, you may be asked to submit a work sample (if the work is still in progress, that is fine).

Once your participation has been confirmed you will be assigned a 50 minute time slot for tech. A Keshet staff member will be in touch with you to find a date and time for your tech the week prior to the show.

We are currently requiring that ALL performers, tech crew, and audience members wear masks while backstage in dressing rooms throughout rehearsals and performances.

Choreographers’ Showcases are made possible in part through the support of New Mexico Arts, a division of the Department of Cultural Affairs, the National Endowment for the Arts, and funded in part through a grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration.
