As the year draws to a close and Keshet Dance Company and Center for the Arts continues to celebrate 30 years of arts in motion and community in action, we’re reminded why dance, movement, and most importantly, joy matters. Dance connects us across differences. It helps us make sense of the world, bridges our communities, and brings beauty and meaning to everyday life.
This time last year, our community made it possible for Keshet to:
- Foster deeper inclusion and access in dance by providing more than $114,000 in non-competitive scholarships for community dance classes serving dancers of all ages.
- Inspire and provide nearly 4,000 instructional dance educational hours including nearly 2,000 to dancers in Keshet’s Pre-Professional Program, known as KP3. KP3 dancers take part in technical training and mentorship to prepare them for their dreams of pursuing professional careers in dance.
- Provide a nurturing space for artists and creatives from all over the world to participate in residency programs that support them in developing their own passions and provide opportunities to connect and collaborate with peers to create unique works..
- Bring professional dance performances to life that move audiences and spark important conversations in our community around social justice issues such as juvenile incarceration.
