The Southwest Region Economic Development Association (SWREDA) honored five recipients with the 2021 Star of the Southwest Award. Keshet was among the honorees for the creation and impact of Keshet Center for the Arts and the Keshet Ideas and Innovation Community, a business resource center and residency-based makerspace for arts entrepreneurs.
Across the SWREDA region (covering the five-states of New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana) are examples of economic development projects that are having immediate impacts on the economy. These projects are leading to the creation and retention of jobs, new and expanded businesses, improved infrastructure, and workforce development opportunities that are lifting up local communities and regions. Keshet Founder and Artistic Director, Shira Greenberg, together with Augusta Meyers, Mid-Region Council of Governments, Albuquerque, NM received the award (virtually) at the SWREDA Annual Conference in Arkansas, Wednesday, September 1, 2021.

About Keshet: Established in 1996, Keshet’s mission is to inspire and unite community by fostering unlimited possibilities through dance, mentorship and a creative space for the arts.
