Keshet Dance & Center for the Arts’ OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS for Albuquerque’s Hear Here Festival!

Keshet Dance and Center for the Arts, in partnership with the City of Albuquerque’s Department of Arts and Culture, presents an open artist call to the 2024 Hear Here Festival!

Similar to a 48-Hour Film Festival, the Hear Here Festival celebrates the talent of Albuquerque artists, bringing dynamic, original, collaborative work to fruition in a concentrated period of time with a culminating event premiering and celebrating these new creations.  Artists of different styles (i.e. a dancer and a poet) are paired together and given two weeks to create and collaborate! Artists are provided with rehearsal and performance space, arts business workshops via a pre and post festival business workshop series, and a $1,000 stipend for the Hear Here Festival experience. The concentrated residency period of time culminates in the Hear Here Festival Performance, premiering and celebrating these new creations and these dynamic local artists. Albuquerque-based musicians, poets, and dancers are invited and encouraged to apply.

The application deadline is February 2, 2024 at 2pm MT. The creation and rehearsal process will take place March 23-April 5, with the Hear Here Festival performance, open to the public, presented on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Keshet Center for the Arts.

Albuquerque’s Hear Here Festival is inspired by the original Hear Here!, a live music and movement festival founded, conceived, and premiered in Minneapolis, MN in 2015 by choreographer Maggie Bergeron and composer Nicholas Gaudette.
